OnePay, the Walmart-backed mobile fintech, now accepts USDC deposits directly into OnePay Checking accounts for select US customers. The stablecoin is converted automatically to US dollars and credited to the customer’s existing checking balance within moments.
How the USDC deposit feature works
The feature went live on October 30, 2026, for select US customers. Inside the OnePay app, users generate a deposit address for USDC, send the stablecoin to that address, and OnePay handles the rest.
Once the USDC arrives, it is converted into dollars and credited to the customer’s checking balance. OnePay is not charging conversion fees at launch.
Deposits are supported from 12 blockchains. Named networks include Tempo, Base, Solana, and Ethereum. Stripe’s Bridge platform handles compliance checks, manages the deposit addresses, and runs the conversion to US dollars.
One practical result is that users no longer need a separate stablecoin account to get USDC into their everyday banking. The stablecoin goes in, dollars come out, and the customer does not manage a crypto balance in between.
Who the feature is for
The clearest beneficiaries are freelancers and gig workers who get paid in USDC. OnePay said the current process often involves an exchange account, a sell order, and a bank withdrawal that takes time. OnePay compresses that chain into a single deposit.
The timing lines up with broader stablecoin growth. Stablecoin transaction volume reached approximately $1.79 trillion in June 2026, a 125% increase year-over-year.
OnePay’s crypto expansion
This is not OnePay’s first move into digital assets. The company began offering Bitcoin and Ethereum trading in January 2025 and added more tokens in March 2026.
In April 2026, OnePay also started a partnership with Tempo. Tempo now appears on the list of supported networks for USDC deposits, so the new feature builds on that earlier relationship.
OnePay’s pitch is still built around fee-free checking and savings. The company counts millions of customers, many drawn by that model and by its association with Walmart.
What it means for stablecoins and retail banking
Stripe’s role also deserves attention. Bridge is handling compliance and conversion, which suggests a template other consumer finance apps could copy.
The feature is limited to select US customers, and the no-fee structure applies at launch.
