Prediction markets are assigning a 67% probability that XRP will reach $2 before the end of 2027, according to Polymarket data. The odds decline for earlier timeframes, with a 61% chance by June 30, 2027, a 59% probability by September 30, 2027, and a 48% likelihood by March 31, 2027.
For 2026, the probability of XRP reaching $2 drops significantly to 23% by December 31 and just 6% by September 30.
The market outlook suggests traders expect a multi-quarter timeline before XRP sustains a move above $2, a level substantially above the token's current trading range below $1.50.
Technical Resistance and Long-Term Pattern
Cryptocurrency analyst Ali Martinez has identified a decade-long ascending triangle pattern on XRP's monthly chart. Martinez noted that a monthly close above $3.66 would confirm a breakout and potentially signal significantly higher price targets over the long term. XRP would need to reclaim $2 before challenging this higher resistance level.
Current Price Action and Technical Indicators
At press time, XRP was trading at $1.42, up approximately 1% over the past 24 hours and nearly 2% on a weekly basis. The token remains above both its 50-day simple moving average at $1.17 and its 200-day SMA at $1.27, indicating the medium- and long-term trend remains bullish.
The 14-day relative strength index (RSI) stands at 60.37, positioned in neutral territory and suggesting bullish momentum without the market being overbought. This reading indicates XRP has room to advance before approaching the 70 level that typically signals overheating.
Trading volumes remained elevated through August despite price pullbacks from recent highs near $1.70.
