Pump.fun's native token, PUMP, climbed 3.92% over 24 hours to $0.004649 after the platform launched Hyperliquid-powered perpetual futures trading services. The price movement reflects trader interest in the platform's derivatives expansion.
The recovery follows earlier price movements, with PUMP rising approximately 8.9% from its Friday intraday low near $0.00427. The token crossed $0.004482 around midnight before approaching its daily high.
New Trading Options
Pump.fun now offers Bitcoin perpetual contracts with up to 40x leverage and Ethereum perpetual contracts with up to 25x leverage. Traders can open long or short positions without purchasing the underlying cryptocurrencies, though leveraged positions carry liquidation risks.
The platform uses Hyperliquid's existing order books rather than operating a separate derivatives engine. Hyperliquid's HyperCore mainnet handles order execution, margin requirements, and liquidations, while Pump.fun provides the trading interface.
The perpetual futures launch follows a discovery on October 9 of perpetual trading data within Pump.fun's application programming interface, which included funding rates, trading volumes, and open interest. Pump.fun previously integrated HyperEVM trading on August 26, allowing users to trade supported tokens against USDC.
Fee Structure and Restrictions
Pump.fun charges up to 0.10% per perpetual order as a builder fee, applied when traders open, increase, or close positions. Bridge transfers carry an additional fee of up to 0.25%, excluding charges from third-party operators. Hyperliquid's trading, funding, and account activation fees remain separate.
For example, a $10,000 order would cost $10 at the maximum builder fee, though actual charges may be lower depending on the rate applied during order confirmation.
The new service excludes traders located in the United States and Ontario, alongside other restricted jurisdictions. Pump.fun's terms specify that Hyperliquid manages positions and settlements, while users remain responsible for monitoring their collateral.
Traders can access existing Hyperliquid positions through other compatible interfaces, with positions remaining subject to Hyperliquid's margin requirements, funding payments, and liquidation rules.
