Sazmining is offering a new way to enter Bitcoin mining by selling individual Proto immersion hashboards from Block, with financing and managed hosting services included.
The Proto immersion hashboards are configured for approximately 204 terahashes per second with efficiency of roughly 15 joules per terahash. Three boards typically comprise a full Proto Immersion Module, but customers can purchase a single board to start.
The hardware is priced at $4,187. Sazmining offers a financing option requiring $1,397 upfront, followed by 18 monthly payments of $155 at 0% interest. An additional hosting and maintenance fee of $153 per month covers electricity at the service rate and operational support.
The recurring monthly charges are a significant component of the economics. A lower upfront purchase price does not eliminate mining costs. Bitcoin mining returns depend on network difficulty, block rewards, equipment uptime, fees, and the price of BTC at the time of reward receipt. A technically efficient hashboard may still produce limited returns depending on these factors.
For Block, the arrangement expands the potential market for its Proto equipment by lowering the entry point. For Sazmining, it allows customers to purchase industrial mining hardware in smaller, modular units through a managed service model.
The service offers convenience and modularity. Prospective buyers must evaluate whether projected mining revenue will adequately cover the hardware purchase and recurring operational fees.
