Solana has posted strong gains in September, climbing nearly 20% to trade at $120, prompting analysts to target further upside toward $150 and beyond. However, technical indicators suggest traders should brace for a potential near-term pullback.
Institutional inflows have been a key driver. Spot US Solana ETFs have accumulated approximately 4.37 million coins, worth around $450 million, since July 13, marking 11 consecutive weeks of net inflows. Last week saw nearly $190 million in inflows, with cumulative total inflows reaching a new all-time high of $1.62 billion.
Cryptocurrency traders and analysts are divided on the near-term direction. Some expect continued strength, while others anticipate a correction. A notable indicator of bullish sentiment emerged when an anonymous whale opened a $20.2 million long position on SOL, with a liquidation price set at $98. According to trading records, the investor has completed four trades with a 100% win rate, netting $4.7 million in profits.
Technical metrics present a cautionary signal. Solana's Relative Strength Index has surged past 70, indicating overbought conditions that typically precede downward moves. Additionally, exchange netflows show inflows significantly exceeding outflows, suggesting investors are moving coins to centralized platforms—a dynamic that can increase near-term selling pressure.
