Spot Bitcoin ETFs Attract $3 Billion in Inflows Over Nine-Day Rally

US spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a significant nine-day inflow period beginning September 17, channeling approximately $3 billion back into the products. The rally reversed year-to-date net flows from deeply negative to modestly positive, representing a meaningful turnaround for a category that had been bleeding capital.

The shift is particularly notable given that spot Bitcoin ETFs sat roughly $5.8 billion underwater at mid-year. The nine-day stretch brought cumulative net flows to approximately $934 million positive for 2026.

Inflow Details

The week ending September 25 led the surge, attracting roughly $2.4 billion in net inflows—the largest weekly total since October 2025, when Bitcoin traded near its all-time high of around $126,000.

September 21 emerged as the strongest single day, with nearly $999 million flowing into spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Three products dominated the capital influx. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led with approximately $1.2 billion for the week, followed by Fidelity's FBTC with around $702 million and ARK 21Shares' ARKB with roughly $295 million. These three accounted for more than 90% of inflows during the period.

Market Context

The September rally follows a difficult year for Bitcoin and related products. By July, cumulative 2026 net flows had reached negative $5.8 billion as Bitcoin fell roughly 34% from its October 2025 peak near $126,000.

During the inflow streak, Bitcoin's spot price stabilized in the $83,000 to $87,000 range, moving slightly higher on a week-over-week basis.

Since launching in January 2024, US spot Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated more than $57 billion in cumulative net inflows. Total assets under management across the category approached $108 billion by late September.

Institutional Participation

The concentration of inflows among IBIT and FBTC suggests participation from large, established institutional allocators. Fidelity's strong performance reflects its extensive retail brokerage network and institutional custody infrastructure. The simultaneous strength of both products indicates broad-based demand rather than concentrated positioning.

ARK 21Shares' ARKB presence adds a growth-oriented dimension to the inflows, given ARK Invest's established advocacy for Bitcoin as an institutional asset.

Daily inflows tapered slightly after September 21 but remained positive through at least September 29.
