Stacks (STX) has maintained a strong upward trend since rebounding from yearly lows of $0.11, reaching $0.42 and breaking above the $0.40 resistance zone. The recovery has drawn renewed trader attention to the token.
Bitcoin Staking Drives Recovery
The price rally coincides with developments in Stacks' Bitcoin staking program. On October 12, the platform announced that Bond 2 had filled its approximately 500 BTC capacity, with more than 6.7 million STX bonded alongside it. The program offers a 3% yield paid in Bitcoin.
Bond 2 expanded participation through Bitcoin DeFi protocols, including Stacking DAO and the Xverse pool, enabling staked Bitcoin to remain useful within the Stacks ecosystem. A third bonding period is expected to open around November 10, 2026, with the potential to attract more institutional participants as custody integrations progress.
Network Activity Lags Price Recovery
Despite the price surge, on-chain metrics present a mixed picture. The number of active addresses has declined to below 1,000, down from below 1,400 earlier in the month. This discrepancy between price movement and network participation suggests the rally has yet to translate into sustained ecosystem engagement.
Derivatives Signal Buying Pressure
Technical indicators show more optimistic signals in derivatives markets. Open interest has risen alongside the price, indicating new derivative positioning. The cumulative volume delta also displays a notable positive spike, suggesting aggressive buying pressure that could support further upside.
Stacks must hold above the $0.4022 level to strengthen its bullish outlook and build momentum toward $0.4609. A loss of support below $0.40 could weaken the recovery's prospects.
