Bitcoin treasury firm Strive has teased a new Bitcoin acquisition, with a formal announcement expected soon. The hint comes as Strive's common equity stock, ASST, rallies to a new yearly high, positioning it as the top-performing asset among the top ten Bitcoin treasury companies.
CEO Hints at Upcoming Acquisition
Strive CEO Matt Cole shared a portfolio tracker on X with the caption, "Wall-breaking season at Strive." Similar posts by the company have previously preceded new Bitcoin purchase announcements, following a recent pattern of increased buying activity.
This potential purchase follows Strive's recent acquisition of 1,800 BTC, which elevated the firm to the fifth-largest Bitcoin treasury holder with a total of 23,156 BTC. The company currently trails Strategy, Twenty One Capital, Metaplanet, and MARA Holdings.
Cole previously stated that Strive aims to purchase over 20,000 additional BTC, setting a goal to finish the year as the second-largest corporate Bitcoin holder behind Strategy. To help fund these acquisitions, Strive utilizes its preferred security, SATA, which trades at its par value of $100.
ASST Stock Performance
Driven by a rebound in the price of Bitcoin—which has climbed from a low near $63,000 to as high as $82,000—Strive's ASST stock surged to a year-to-date high above $27. TradingView data indicates the stock is up more than 78% year-to-date and has gained nearly 120% over the past month.
Other Bitcoin treasury firms have also experienced monthly gains alongside Bitcoin's recovery. Strategy's MSTR stock has risen over 45% in the past month while remaining down over 7% year-to-date, and Metaplanet has gained more than 22% over the last month despite being down over 37% year-to-date.
