Sui price increased 2.35% to $1.20 over 24 hours on Friday, tracking Bitcoin's 2.79% gain. The broader cryptocurrency market advance followed Citigroup's raised 12-month Bitcoin target to $113,000 from $82,000, which the bank attributed to stronger cryptocurrency activity, supportive macroeconomic conditions, and renewed exchange-traded fund inflows.
Analyst Ali Charts highlighted a potential continuation pattern, identifying an hourly close above $1.27 as a breakout trigger. The analyst noted that since September 12, Sui has repeatedly consolidated within parallel channels before breaking upward, a sequence that has played out three times. A fourth continuation move would bring the recent $1.29 swing high into focus, representing approximately 7.5% upside from current levels.
Sui price support remains above $1.14, with the 23.6% Fibonacci level serving as a key floor for the near-term recovery scenario. Derivatives activity adds another factor to the outlook, with CoinGlass reporting open interest near $930 million at September's end and daily trading volume approaching $3 billion around September 22.
Ecosystem Developments Expand Utility
Sui launched gasless stablecoin transfers on May 20, 2026, enabling peer-to-peer transfers of supported stablecoins without gas fees or a separate SUI balance. Supported assets include USDsui, USDC, FDUSD, and USDY. The feature could simplify onboarding and reduce payment costs for businesses, though its broader impact on network usage will depend on actual adoption and wallet integrations.
On October 1, Sui announced a collaboration with OpenAssets to develop the Open Tokenized Asset Standard under Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust. The Sui Foundation is an early contributor and sponsor. The framework establishes shared rules for identity, ownership, compliance, and settlement across financial systems, allowing institutions to retain different technology stacks while improving asset verification and interoperability.
