SUI is trading between the 200-day exponential moving average near $0.9650 and the 50-day EMA around $0.7455, leaving the token positioned between competing technical pressures. Market analysts note that a sustained break above $0.9650 could shift the daily trend toward bullish conditions and potentially open the path toward $1.05 and higher levels.
The Sui Foundation's buyback program has now accumulated more than 609,800 SUI tokens on a year-to-date basis, according to recent updates. The program, which acquired an additional 8,000 SUI on September 5, is funded entirely through onchain yield and currently values the buyback treasury at approximately $490,000. The foundation uses this mechanism to reclaim circulating supply from the open market without relying on traditional capital raises.
Maintaining support levels will be critical for the token's near-term outlook. If buyers fail to sustain the recovery, SUI could break below the 50-day EMA near $0.7455, which would expose the June support level at $0.6615 to further pressure and potentially trigger additional downside movement.
While the buyback program represents a positive fundamental development, market observers caution that token purchases do not automatically translate into price gains. The token's ability to hold above $0.7455 and reclaim $0.9650 will depend on whether buying demand can overcome selling pressure and resistance levels.
