Taurus announced that its custody and issuance platforms now support smart‑contract‑based assets on the Stellar network. The functionality went live on October 29 and is available through the company’s Taurus‑PROTECT and Taurus‑CAPITAL services.
Expanded Stellar Integration
The update extends Taurus’s existing Stellar support, allowing institutional clients to manage the full lifecycle of tokenized instruments, from creation to ongoing administration.
Custody Controls
Beyond safeguarding private keys, the new offering enables institutions to define transaction authorizations, request workflows, and approval requirements. This ensures that both simple transfers and complex contract interactions are governed according to internal policies.
Token Issuance Flexibility
Taurus says the platform now accommodates several Stellar token models, including structures designed for regulated assets. Issuers can configure rights, transfer rules, subscriptions, redemptions and other actions to align with the specific characteristics of each instrument.
Operational Efficiency
By integrating smart‑contract support into existing custody and issuance interfaces, financial firms can avoid deploying separate experimental tools. A unified dashboard can display network‑specific requirements and contract permissions, helping teams maintain consistent oversight across different blockchains.
Adoption Outlook
The release provides institutions with additional infrastructure options on Stellar. Future adoption will be measured by the use of these capabilities for concrete tokenized products and the ability to manage assets from issuance through redemption within a single, coherent system.
