Decentralized perpetual futures exchange Deepsigma has launched a live paper-trading platform covering 77 traditional financial markets on the Cypherium blockchain. The platform allows traders to gain long or short exposure to U.S. equities, stock indexes, sector ETFs, commodities, and Treasury yields without tokenizing or taking custody of underlying assets.
The platform was developed by a team of alumni from Goldman Sachs, Citadel Securities, Google, and Uber. Rather than holding actual assets, Deepsigma's perpetual contracts track prices through external market data feeds.
Market Coverage and Infrastructure
The paper-trading platform currently supports contracts for benchmark stock indexes including the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, Nasdaq Composite, Russell 2000, and the Cboe Volatility Index. Commodity contracts cover crude oil, gold, silver, natural gas, and copper.
Deepsigma's risk management system incorporates multi-source external price feeds, mark-price mechanisms, circuit breakers, partial liquidations, and an insurance fund to address off-hours price movements and liquidity gaps in traditional markets. The platform operates on a central limit order book model with a separate clearing layer for margin, collateral, and settlement.
Regulatory and Technical Approach
Unlike fully permissionless crypto platforms, Deepsigma is designing its system around U.S. regulatory frameworks. The exchange is developing a decentralized identity framework utilizing zero-knowledge proofs to meet global regulatory standards.
Sky Guo, CEO of Deepsigma and founder of Cypherium, noted that traditional assets present operational challenges distinct from cryptocurrencies, including non-24/7 trading hours, fragmented pricing, and specific regulatory requirements.
The underlying Cypherium blockchain uses a hybrid proof-of-work and Hotstuff Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus mechanism, supported by four U.S. patents. The platform also features an offchain artificial intelligence analysis tool designed to generate strategy insights without execution authority over user funds.
