XRP Ledger's Batch upgrade has been delayed by at least 10 days after validator support temporarily fell below the network's required threshold. The feature is now earliest to activate on October 9 if support holds, down from an expected September 29 date.
Batch would allow users to submit up to eight transactions together, including all-or-nothing exchanges that could enable simultaneous payment and delivery of tokenized assets in a single operation.
The upgrade regained support from 30 of 35 trusted validators on September 25, according to the XRPL amendment dashboard. Under the network's rules, upgrades must maintain support from more than 80% of trusted validators for two consecutive weeks. When support drops below this threshold, the accumulated countdown time resets, even if votes return shortly afterward.
Batch had been counting down since September 15 and represents a second attempt at the feature. Developers previously withdrew an earlier version before activation due to a critical signature-checking flaw. The corrected implementation shipped in August with version 3.3.0 of the XRP Ledger software.
A separate upgrade called PermissionDelegationV1_1 also experienced a support reset. This feature would allow account owners to delegate specific tasks to other accounts without sharing signing keys that control their funds. The upgrade lost its qualifying support on September 23 and regained it a day later, moving its earliest activation from October 5 to October 8.
