XRP price has jumped to approximately $1.39, up 6.6% over the past 24 hours, though the token remains significantly below its previous highs.
Bullish Pattern Formation
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez has identified an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern forming on XRP's daily chart. The left shoulder and head are already visible, while the right shoulder is forming around the $1.33 level.
According to Martinez, $1.55 serves as key resistance and acts as the pattern's neckline. If XRP breaks above this level, the pattern would be confirmed and could trigger a rally toward $2.
To maintain the bullish structure, XRP must hold support at $1.20. A break below this level could weaken the technical setup and invalidate the pattern.
Golden Cross Signal
A potential golden cross adds another bullish indicator. XRP's 50-day moving average is now approximately 2% below its 200-day average, marking the closest gap since the token's last golden cross in August 2024.
A golden cross occurs when the 50-day moving average moves above the 200-day average, which traders typically view as a long-term bullish signal. XRP's history shows mixed results with this indicator. Five of its 10 successful golden crosses were followed by major gains within 90 days. The April 2017 crossover preceded a 1,009.6% rally, while the February 2021 cross preceded a 135% rise. However, none of XRP's previous 16 golden crosses lasted for 12 months, with each eventually followed by a death cross.
Whale Activity on Exchanges
XRP whale activity on Binance has increased notably. CryptoQuant data shows the 30-day cumulative XRP inflow to Binance has reached approximately 1.6 billion XRP, its highest level in six months. The figure had declined steadily from March through July before recovering sharply in September.
Higher whale inflows do not necessarily indicate selling activity, as XRP can also be transferred to Binance for trading, liquidity provision, or portfolio management purposes.
