Ripple's cross-border token XRP has experienced significant weakness in recent weeks. After reaching $1.70 toward the end of August, the asset pulled back substantially to around $1.26 following the failure of the CLARITY Act. It has since recovered slightly to trade around $1.30, representing a weekly decline of approximately 6%.
Historic Oversold Reading
XRP's two-week RSI ratio has fallen to approximately 33.5, marking the lowest point in its history—lower than levels seen during the 2018 bear market, the 2020 COVID pandemic, or the 2022 downturn. Analysts interpret such extreme oversold readings as historically significant technical signals that may precede price recoveries.
According to technical analysis, the asset has entered oversold territory like never before, suggesting momentum has been substantially depleted.
Institutional Interest Persists
Despite the challenging price performance, spot XRP ETFs have continued attracting capital. Cumulative net inflows into these investment vehicles have surpassed $1.7 billion, with September 2 representing the only red day in the past month and a half, indicating sustained institutional appetite.
Price Movements and Analyst Forecasts
XRP began the current business week above $1.40. One analyst noted that a sustained close above $1.38 could confirm a bullish move and potentially open the door to a rally toward $1.60. The price subsequently rose to nearly $1.50 but declined before reaching that target.
Other analysts have offered additional projections based on technical patterns observed on XRP's price chart, though these represent speculative forecasting rather than confirmed price targets.
