XT Exchange, founded in 2018, marked its eighth anniversary by discussing how standards for crypto exchanges have evolved. According to COO Arman Achmed, platforms are now judged on factors beyond basic access and liquidity.
In the early years of crypto trading, exchanges were primarily distinguished by access to assets, liquidity, and reliable execution. Today, users increasingly expect platforms to operate reliably during high activity, handle assets responsibly, communicate clearly, and support expanding use cases.
Expansion Beyond Trading
XT Exchange's own development reflects this shift. The platform has grown from a trading service to offer spot, margin, and futures trading alongside traditional-market exposure, real-world asset products, and payments through XT Pay. This expansion creates additional operational requirements, as each service introduces new points where execution, risk controls, and user support must function reliably.
Building Infrastructure Before It Is Needed
Achmed emphasized that platforms cannot control market conditions, but can prepare organizations to handle them. Investment in systems, processes, and people creates capacity before it becomes visible to users—whether through new markets, improved payment experiences, or services that remain functional during market volatility.
Transparency and Verification
XT publishes Proof of Reserves information for covered assets and allows users to verify their balances were included in reserve snapshots. The platform also operates a public bug bounty program for security researchers to report vulnerabilities. These mechanisms make part of the platform's operations visible and verifiable, though neither eliminates risk entirely.
Achmed stated that what a platform communicates, what users can verify, and what they experience should align. He noted that platforms should explain known issues and acknowledge when they are still investigating problems, rather than leaving users uncertain about whether the platform understands what is occurring.
Preparing for Future Growth
XT Exchange serves more than 12 million registered users across over 200 countries and regions. The platform enters its ninth year focused on what it describes as trust, broader market access, and practical uses for digital assets. The company views its experience not as a way to predict future market cycles, but as preparation for building through uncertainty.
