Bitcoin traded at $71,556 on Thursday, marking a 3.26% increase on the day within a $68,858 to $72,408 trading band. The upward movement extends an 8.7% jump from Wednesday, which represented Bitcoin's strongest one-day gain since March 4 and its highest price level since June 1.
Despite the broader market sentiment shifting as bulls attempt to break a bearish trend lasting several months, participants on prediction platforms remain hesitant to fully commit to a continuation of the rally.
On the Myriad platform, a market tracking whether Bitcoin will hit $84,000 or dump to $55,000 shifted to a nearly even split, with roughly 52% favoring the bullish outcome and 48% leaning toward the bearish target. This represents a significant change from days prior, when traders had favored a drop to $55,000 by about 70%.
Skepticism persists across other platforms as well. Polymarket's flagship 2026 price market previously priced a 56% chance that Bitcoin would touch $55,000 before the end of the year, alongside a 51% probability of reaching $75,000. Meanwhile, Kalshi contracts previously gave Bitcoin a 54% chance of clearing $67,500 in August and a 31% chance of hitting $70,000—thresholds that were surpassed during Wednesday's rally. A separate Polymarket contract placed the probability of Bitcoin rising above $75,000 in August at 47% on approximately $12 million in volume.
Technical analysts note that the next key level for Bitcoin is $70,284, which marks the lower edge of a resistance band. A daily close above that threshold could clear a path toward $73,245, whereas dropping below $68,000 would return the asset to the range it has occupied since June.
Myriad's contract resolves when the Binance BTC/USDT spot price touches either $84,000 or $55,000, without a calendar expiration date. Current live odds on the platform indicate that traders remain cautiously optimistic following the two-day price surge.
