dogwifhat (WIF) recorded daily gains of 13.14% as capital rotated into Solana memecoins over a recent 24-hour period. During the same timeframe, the broader Solana memecoin sector grew by nearly 6%.
Alongside the price increase, WIF trading volume surged by 95.16% to reach $105.8 million. The rise in participation coincided with a rebound from the $0.1758 region toward $0.2157, where buyers encountered resistance that has previously capped recovery attempts.
On the daily chart, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) formed a bearish convergence around the 62.85 zone as the price met rejection. At the time of writing, the RSI had retreated to 58.82. Market analysts note that previous RSI approaches toward this threshold aligned with WIF hitting its upper range before a price retreat.
Spot and derivatives market data also highlighted potential headwinds. According to CryptoQuant data, the 90-day Spot Taker CVD indicator turned seller-dominant following the activity spike, indicating that aggressive sellers took control of spot executions as the rally stalled.
In the derivatives market, CoinGlass data showed that Open Interest climbed 11.10% to $85.12 million as traders added leveraged positions during the recovery. Binance top traders maintained a bullish bias with a Long/Short Ratio of 1.53, where long accounts represented 60.52% of positions compared to 39.48% for shorts.
Market observers suggest that the combination of spot selling pressure, technical resistance, and rising leveraged exposure leaves long positions exposed to potential unwinding, which could accelerate a price correction.
