Standard Chartered Outlines Long-Term ARB Outlook Amid Arbitrum Revenue Growth

Standard Chartered has published a long-term forecast projecting that the Arbitrum (ARB) token could reach $10 by the end of 2030. The analysis, authored by Geoff Kendrick, Global Head of Digital Assets Research at the bank, assumes a broader digital asset framework that also targets $500,000 for bitcoin and $40,000 for ether by 2030.

The bank's annual pricing projections place ARB at 50 cents in 2026, $1.50 in 2027, $3.50 in 2028, $6.50 in 2029, and $10 in 2030. Although ARB has risen from the bank's initial 14-cent reference price to approximately 21 cents, reducing the implied gain, the institution views the token as undervalued relative to its growing revenue base.

Revenue Growth and Institutional Adoption

The forecast is tied to Arbitrum's expanding revenue from helping financial firms establish dedicated blockchains. A prominent example is Robinhood Markets Inc., which launched the public mainnet for Robinhood Chain on July 1 using the Arbitrum Platform. The network serves as an Ethereum layer-2 network for tokenized assets and decentralized finance, featuring Stock Tokens, lending, and perpetual futures.

Under the Arbitrum Expansion Program, Robinhood Chain returns 10% of its protocol net revenue, with 8% directed to the ArbitrumDAO treasury and 2% allocated to the Arbitrum Developer Guild. Standard Chartered estimated that Arbitrum's monthly revenue could reach $5 million in September, driven partly by expectations that tokenized assets will reach $4 trillion by the end of 2028.

Token Structure and Risks

Despite the growth in protocol revenue, ARB functions as an ERC-20 governance token that allows holders to vote on ArbitrumDAO proposals, network upgrades, and treasury decisions. The token currently lacks a direct mechanism for accruing network value, meaning it does not provide ownership in assets brought onchain or a direct claim on Arbitrum's revenue.

Standard Chartered noted that principal risks to its forecast include slower tokenization, competition from other blockchains, and ARB's current lack of direct value accrual for token holders.
