Kraken Prop announced on October 29 that it is adding six commodity markets to its evaluation‑based payout service. The new markets include gold, silver, WTI crude oil, Brent crude oil, copper and natural gas.
Participants in the program submit simulated trade signals; they do not hold actual positions in the underlying commodities. The service remains unregulated, and evaluation fees become non‑refundable once trading begins.
Commission changes
For all plans except the Lite tier, the commission on non‑crypto activity has been reduced from four basis points to two basis points per side. Crypto‑market commissions remain unchanged. Two basis points represent 0.02% of the notional value, meaning a $50,000 simulated signal would incur $10 on entry and $10 on exit, compared with $20 per side under the previous rate.
Plan specifics
Leverage and notional caps vary by plan, and the commodity offering is available in all regions where Kraken Prop operates, except the United Arab Emirates.
Key considerations
- The simulated account balance is not cash that can be withdrawn; payouts depend on the program’s evaluation rules.
- Continuous quoting of commodity prices does not guarantee deep liquidity, especially outside regular market hours.
- Participants should review contract details, performance calculations, drawdown limits and payout conditions.
The expansion broadens the range of signals that Kraken Prop participants can submit and lowers a specific portion of the cost structure, without providing actual ownership of commodities or guaranteed income.
